Push It!

When you go to work out or go for a run you have a goal usually set in mind. I want to go this far and I will be happy. Sometimes that is as far as you go and you never go beyond that. In order to lose weight you need to push yourself further than you thought you could go. Just tell yourself I just need to go another step or another quarter mile or do that 1 more rep. You want to push yourself so far that you are uncomfortable otherwise your body will get used to your workout routines and you may never see results again. Try to hit the uncomfortable zone when your doing your workouts and you will be very happy in the long run don't settle for less.

Protein, Protein, Protein!!

If you are wanting to gain muscle or even make yourself more fit. Protein will definitly be your friend. Before working out if is good to eat a healthy meal with a slow burning protein. A slow burning protein will be things like chicken or pork. All meat has a protein in it. After a workout if you really beat yourself up it would be good to drink a protein shake. Your muscles don't start to really build until after the workout were it is looking for all the different nutrients in your body and that protein to start building. If you drink whey protein within 15 mins of your workout it will help go straight to your muscles. Whey portein is a fast acting protein and moves fast to were you need it. During you day you shouldn't inject more protein if you have to. The rule of themb is you shouldn't eat more than you can digest in any given day. So if you weigh 200lbs you shouldn't digest much more than 91g of protein.

Those Rainy Days

On those rainy days you cannot get outside to exercise. I know it can suck. Something you could do to still stay in shape and get your heart rate up is pilates. It is a good workout to get some blood flowing it is more for toning but if you get weights and stiff bands you can turn it into some mild strength training. You can search about and find a ton of them a lot of them are just quick ten minute work outs. You could also run in place. There are many styles of workouts you can do inside you can also find total body workouts to increase stamina for example we have one that makes you non-stop workout for 25 mins. You wouldn't think it would work but it makes you sweat. Use your imagination the're a lot of things you can do inside on rainy days.

Stay Fit In the Winter

Its hard sometimes to stay fit in the winter time because you cannot afford the expensive equipment. There are alternatives to the equipment though. You can start doing pilates which will help do alot of toning. If you do have some money to spend you could also temporarly join a gym for 2 or 3 months out of the year.

Stay Happy!

It has been said that if your sad its going to cause you to eat more. People eat food in depression because they feel that it is a comfort spot and it heals everything. It really doesn't do much for you other than give you something to do to forget about your pains. Some people also get bored and eat. I am a victim of that sometimes I get bored and I eat, but I also fight myself to make sure I don't. Its all about self control and being happy don't let the little things in life bring you down. Just because you had a bad day at work don't take it home with you. Also...don't let the small thing bother you there is no sense in it. A person should live a happy and healthy life!

Smart Snacking!

With school, homework, sports, your job, your second job, and hanging out with friends. You may feel like there isn't any time for eating healthy. Its probably really tempting for you to just swing by a fast food restraurant and grab a burger or stop and grab a bag a chips somewhere. It is very important to eat healthy foods because you need the fuel (energy) to keep going. Eating three meals a day is sometimes not enough and you need a snack in between. Fruit is an excelent between meal snack. You need to stay away from foods with simple carbohydrates (sugars) such as candy and soda. Look for foods that contain complex carbohydrates such as whole-grain breads and cereals. Combine these with protein-rich snacks like peanut butter or yogurt and cheese. Keep some fruit or whole-grain crackers with you if you start to get hungry between meals. Make sure you do not over eat when you eat your main meals you never want to stuff yourself!
